Synopsis

The film explores the history and transformation of The Gorge Amphitheatre in Grant County, Washington, from a family-owned winery with a plywood stage to a concert venue.[2][3][4][5] The Gorge became a favored destination for music fans and performers over the years since being established in 1986.[6][7] The film includes personal stories from musicians and fans based on their experiences at The Gorge.[8][9][10][11]

The documentary features interviews and performances by artists including Dave Matthews, Mike McCready, Jason Mraz, and Steve Miller.[12][13][14][15][16]

Production and release

Production on the film began in 2016. The film was produced by Tim Williams and directed by Nic Davis.[17][18][19][20][21] The film premiered in theaters on July 21, 2021, following delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[22][23][24][25] After a theatrical run, the documentary was released digitally on streaming platforms in 2022.[26][27]

The film holds a 7.8/10 rating on IMDb.[28] Glenn Kenny of the The New York Times wrote about the film, "A loving documentary about a Pacific Northwest amphitheater, created by a long-ago natural catastrophe, that is a haven for concertgoers".[29]
