Ed McGaa (Oglala Lakota) (April 16, 1936 - Aug. 25, 2017)[1][2] was a new age author,[3] workshop leader, and military veteran.

LifeEdit

McGaa was born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. He served in the Marines in Korea,[4] and as a fighter pilot in the Vietnam War, flying 110 combat missions, receiving 8 Air Medals and 2 Crosses of Gallantry. He was recommended for a Distinguished Flying Cross.[5]

He received his bachelor's degree from St. John's University and a law degree from the University of South Dakota. He participated in the Sun Dance ceremony with Frank Fools Crow.[6] Later in life he wrote books and led workshops on spirituality.
