I am first going to talk about basic facts concerning the painting, such as year, composition, depiction, etc. Then I am going to discuss the impetus behind the painting, as it appears that Hopper was incredibly afraid of the growth of mass media in his time and channelled this fear into New York Movie. I will also talk about this physical and locational history of the painting itself, as it has hung in multiple museums in its history, such as MoMA and the Whitney. I will end by talking about its influence in popular culture. I will be using an image of Edward Hopper's New York Movie, but I have not found any other pertinent images. I will be using several articles I have found, the museum descriptions of New York Movie, and a book that includes a breakdown of the painting.
