The Western Journal of Legal Studies, also known as the University of Western Ontario Journal of Legal Studies, is a student-run law review at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law. It publishes scholarly work by students, lawyers, and academics and focuses on Canadian and international law.[1]

First published in 2012, the Western Journal of Legal Studies is an annual publication which has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada,[2] the Alberta Court of Appeal,[3] and several trial courts.[4] The Journal has published fifteen volumes since 2012.[5]

History edit

Prior to the 2012, the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law was one of few Canadian law schools without a law review. The Journal's creation was support by Ian Holloway and Michael Lynk, respectively Dean and Assistant Dean.[6]
