The WayWORD Festival is a series of events held yearly in Old Aberdeen ran by the WORD Centre. This is a department within the University of Aberdeen.
Every event celebrates unconventional forms of expression through acts including poetry readings, tours, workshops and panels.
Every year, a Nan Shepherd themed event is held to celebrate her life and work.
The majority of events are held in-person with a BSL interpreter. Additionally, community events are held throughout the programme each year including exhibitions and school workshops.
