"Walk" (Korean: 삐그덕; RR: Ppigeudeok; lit. "Creaky") is a song recorded by NCT 127, sub-unit of South Korean boy band NCT, for their sixth Korean-language studio album of the same name. It was released as the album's lead single on July 15, 2024, by SM Entertainment.
Background and release
editOn June 13, 2024, SM Entertainment announced to Korean media that NCT 127 were preparing to release their sixth studio album in July.[1] On June 24, NCT 127 officially announced the title and release date of their album Walk and its lead single of the same name.[2] On July 14, the music video teaser for the song was released on social media.[3] "Walk" and its music video were released on July 15, 2024, along with the rest of the studio album's tracks.[4]
Composition
edit"Walk" was written by Wutan and composed by Landon Sears and Manifest, with L8kshor, Jonathan Hoskins and MZMC, who also participated in the arrangement.[5] SM Entertainment described "Walk" as a "hip-hop song featuring boom bap-style drums, retro guitar riffs, and synth sounds that blend together to evoke the early 2000s vibe" with lyrics that "depict NCT 127's confidence in forging their own path without following anyone else's".[4]
Promotion
editOn July 15, NCT 127 held the "Walk Daily Magazine Launch Party", a live event to commemorate and discuss album's release.[4]
