Visaya, is a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) company registered in both the Philippines and in the United States of America. Established 17 years ago, it currently has around 900 full-time employees and is undergoing expansion. The company operates globally across four key sectors: Contact Center Solutions, Healthcare Information Management, Finance & Accounting Management, and Information Technology Solutions.

Rooted in the Filipino principle of 'malasakit', or empathy, Visaya is among the few Filipino-owned companies in the emerging local IT-BPM Industry in the Philippines.

History

Visaya originated from the vision of merging the enduring Filipino work ethic with global standards, reflected in its Sanskrit-derived name, symbolizing fulfillment. Founded with just 12 agents, The company had its first offices in Makati City in 2007 and was accredited by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) in 2010. In 2013, Visaya launched the nation’s inaugural Rural BPO program in partnership with Accenture “Accenture PH unveils unique team-up with rural BPOs”[1] in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental. During this period, Visaya received accolades such as the Outstanding SME Award for the Service Sector from the Department of Trade and Industry, underscoring its growing prominence “DTI honors 17 of PHL’s top exporters"[2]

In 2018, the company opened a branch in Dumaguete City and focused on both Customer Service and Healthcare Information Management accounts.

During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Visaya sustained its growth, transitioning a considerable portion of its workforce to remote setup while expanding its business by 11%. In 2023, Visaya achieved a significant milestone by relocating its main Philippine office to Ortigas and opened its branch in Bacolod in early 2024[3]

Visaya's commitment to excellence has garnered widespread recognition, including the 2016 Outstanding SME Award for the Service Sector from the Department of Trade and Industry. In 2019, it was honored with the Philippines Best Employer Brand Award by the Employer Brand Institute and the ACES Most Promising SME in Asia Award. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Visaya achieved an 11% business growth and successfully transitioned approximately 60% of its workforce to a work-from-home arrangement. The company was further distinguished with Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award in 2021 and again in 2023.[5]

Empowering Rural Communities: Accenture's Collaboration with VKPO

In 2014, Visaya and Accenture Philippines introduced a groundbreaking initiative termed "Rural BPO" in Tanjay, Negros Oriental involving 38 individuals. This strategic partnership established a BPO centers in rural areas to provide comprehensive training and employment opportunities to local residents and neighboring communities, with Visaya] playing a crucial role in facilitating this transformative initiative.
