"Villain" is a song by Canadian pop punk band Hedley. It was released on July 26, 2005 as the second single from their debut self-titled studio album. The song appeared on the American release of their second studio album Famous Last Words titled, Never Too Late as a bonus track.[2]

Background

"Villain" was written by Chris Crippin, Dave Genn, Jacob Hoggard, Tommy Mac and Dave Rosin while production was handled by Garth Richardson.[3] According to Hoggard, the song is about "the harlots on the road."[4]

The group performed the track on MuchMusic's Much on Demand on September 8, 2005.[4]

Chart performance

"Villain" debuted on the Canada Rock Top 30 chart at number 30 on the week of August 26, 2005.[5] The song later re-entered the chart on the week of September 30, 2005 at number 25.[6] The song eventually reached number 18 on the Canada Rock Top 30 chart.[7]
