Tryduby (Ukrainian Тридуби; Russian Тридубы) is a village in the northwest of Mykolaiv Oblast with a population about 2100 inhabitants (2001 census).[1]

War Memorial located in Tryduby, Ukraine

The village was founded at the beginning of the 18th century [2nd], at an altitude of 149m, 16km north of the former Raion centre Kryve Ozero and about 210 km northwest of the oblast centre Mykolayiv.

On June 12, 2020, the village became part of the newly established settlement municipality of Kryve Ozero[3]; until then, together with the southern village of Sorochynka (Сорочинка), it formed the district municipality of Tryduby (Тридубівська сільська рада/Trydubivska Silska Rada) in the north of the Kryve Ozero Raion. On the 17th July 2020, as part of a major Raion reform, the Kryve Ozero Raion was subjugated into the Pervomaisk Raion[4th].

The village has three large Soviet-built farms which were previously used for collective agriculture, similar to others in ex-Soviet countries. The village also has a school which teaches children up to the age of 18, a few small grocery and general stores, and a village hall sometimes used for gatherings. The statue of Lenin which was erected outside of the village hall was removed in the mid-2010s as part of the decommunization of Ukraine. The village has a Soviet war memorial which bears the names of all those who perished in the Second World War, which stands on the site formerly occupied by the village church that was demolished during the Soviet Union. The village church was rebuilt further away from the centre, which now includes a memorial to those who died during the Holodomor famine in the 1930s.
