Draft:Tiv Tiv monastery

1 km from the village east, on the right bank of the Hrazdan River, there is a settlement of the VII-XVII centuries, the area of which, appearing in the landslide zone, underwent significant changes. The foundation walls of buildings with preserved rectangular plans are lined with large and medium rough stones. On the eastern edge of the village, the monastic complex called "Tiv-Tiv Monastery" occupies a dominant position in relation to the surroundings, which dates back to the 12th-13th centuries. It is a structure with a rectangular plan laid out on a two-level platform, which rises to a semi-circular obsidian on the eastern side. The floor is paved, and the walls are lined with a combination of black and red tuff stones. The structure had two entrances, opened from the western and northwestern parts. To the south of the church extends the cemetery of the XII-XVII centuries, which, as we mentioned, was destroyed due to landslides and the tombstones were moved. Special graves have preserved their original appearance. Later, on the site of the 7th century church, the residents built a chapel on the old foundations, the flat roof of which was covered with a layer of earth. Individual cultural details, fragments and a head with the sculpture of an isosceles cross of the monument are noticeable in the area. In the church, the lower fragment of the khachkar of the 12th - 13th centuries and the pedestal with inscriptions have been preserved, and two fragments of the crucifix from the winged cross of the 7th century have remained. The village, being on the bank of the Hrazdan River, had a bridge, which also dates back to the 12th - 13th centuries. Currently, only the western part of the bridge has been preserved, its sidewalls are built of rough basalt lined with lime mortar, filled with a mixture of pebbles and clay.
