Victor Jibogu, more commonly known by his middle name as Timi, is a youth activist currently serving as a Member of UK Youth Parliament for Greenwich.
Campaigning
Timi has been a member of Greenwich Young Person's Council since 2020 and was elected as Member of UK Youth Parliament in February 2023, alongside Obed Poto-poto.
Timi has also campaigned on free school meals, delivering a petition to Downing Street with over 250,000 signatures for the extension of free school meals to 800,000 children in poverty with child health charity BiteBack.
He campaigned against the controversial Silvertown Tunnel in East London and appeared on BBC London. In an interview he said "[Sadiq Khan] is doing ULEZ to decrease pollution while doing the tunnel to increase [it]. "It's very hypocritical of him and it's really going to hurt young people in the area."[1] [2]
Early life
In an interview with I (newspaper) he talked about the difficulties of not being able to access free school meals and how it affected him and his family. On his personal website, he says that he grew up in Peckham before being made homeless, relied on free school meals and [[food banks]], and attended 8 different schools.
