Tim Cogan is an author, engineer, and scientist known for his work in co-founding MedCognetics, Inc. and also his side projects on communicating complex concepts in simple terms, often through children's literature.[1][2][3][4]

Cogan completed his PhD at The University of Texas at Dallas, developing machine learning techniques for medical image analysis.[5] As a continuation of his research, Cogan co-founded and serves as chief technology officer (CTO) at MedCognetics, Inc., an AI startup improving patient outcomes in cancer screening.[6][7][1][8] Cogan has fourteen professional publications including patents and research articles.[9][10][11][12] Before MedCognetics, Cogan worked in the semiconductor industry, writing software for sensors and mobile devices.[13] [14] [15]

Cogan began his writing career with a focus on children's books, particularly those that convey complex scientific and technical concepts in a way that is engaging and understandable to young readers. His books are known for sparking curiosity and have been sold globally​.[2][16][17]
