This article is about the podcast. For the original novel, see The Count of Monte Cristo.
The Count of Monte Cristo is a scripted podcast adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo. The show is produced by Little Lucky Productions and directed by Chloe Wilson, named one of 2024's International Women of Podcasting[1] and known for the award-winning Marvel’s Wolverine.[2] This adaptation notably treats the novel as an ensemble piece and includes characters that rarely appear in other adaptations of Dumas’ novel.
Plot
editAfter a fateful meeting abroad, the enigmatic Count of Monte Cristo arrives in Paris. Mysterious and tragic happenings quickly follow - threatening the Parisian upper class in unimaginable ways. As star-crossed lovers, scheming sycophants, and ambitious criminals strive for what they think they deserve, questions arise about Paris’ new, fabulously wealthy resident. Not just about why the Count of Monte Cristo has come to Paris, but about the secrets that lurk behind his inscrutable facade.
