Draft:The Carlile Family Band

The Carlile Family Band is a family band from a tiny, rural town named Curlew, Washington. The band foundation is made up of three band members: brother and sister Caroline Carlile and JayJ Carlile as well as their father, Jay Carlile. Besides these three, you'll occasionally see additional family members on stage with them as well, including but not limited to younger siblings Evelyn Carlile and Sam Carlile, as well as Josephine Hanseroth, their cousin.

The band performs a mix of Americana, Folk and Indie sounds using about nine instruments ranging from box drums to banjos.

Lead singer, Caroline Carlile, is their 16-year-old front woman; she plays guitar and banjo. She's mostly seen bantering with the crowd and her family on stage, and loves to tell stories that make people laugh.

JayJ is a Jack-of-all-trades. He's 13 years old, and the driving force behind the music. He's a multi-talented instrumentalist, playing about 7 instruments these days. He's known for singing his own songs that he wrote, some about his anxiety and the stresses of growing up.

Last but not least, Jay Carlile provides expert harmonies and blues harp. He's also the official family bus driver.[1]

The band writes, records and produces their own music, often from the back seat of their family motorhome. Their music covers all kinds of topics including heartache, friendship, familial love and cowboys.[2]

The band has played across the U.S. and is currently on their 2024 summer tour. They've been on stages ranging from a small brewery that holds a handful of people to the famed stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.

The band is made up of the niece and nephew as well as the brother of American Grammy-Award winning singer-songwriter and producer, Brandi Carlile.
