• Comment: PR clichés unacceptable (e.g. "award-winning", "one of Europe's foremost opera houses", "giving the group new life", etc.). A number of statements in this draft are not cited (e.g. the record company they are contracted to). Draft also relies excessively on citations from sources which are either connected to the subject, or where they are only mentioned in passing. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 18:32, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Tenori (Italian for "tenors") is a British-Swedish tenor group consisting of English tenor and producer Alexander Grove.[1][2] and Swedish tenor William Davis Lind.[3][4][5] They are both trained opera singers. Tenori is best known for opera crossover[6]

2003-2010 edit

The group began in the UK in 2003 as a three tenor group under the name Tenori with Grove, Jon Christos and John Marsden. The idea for Tenori arose during their studies as classical singers at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. There they met Perry Hughes, manager for crossover tenor, Russell Watson, and began recording for Sony Music. They debuted with a UK tour to raise awareness for three charities, Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and the National Kidney Research Fund due to having shared experience of all having father's that died from those diseases.[7][8] Marsden and Christos left the group in 2006 to pursue other interests, and Grove continued with colleagues from the UK opera houses and the West End. From 2006 to 2016, Tenori performed in a 3 tenor format in the UK and internationally including Malta, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Croatia and Brazil.[9][10]

2010 - present: Scandinavia + Eurovision edit

In 2010 Tenori auditioned in Gothenburg and Stockholm with a view to launching the act in Scandinavia. Swedish tenor Ulric Björklund joined the group and debuted with Grove and English tenor James Edwards in a televised concert at Cadogan Hall London to support the charity "Genius for Genes" alongside Sue Perkins led by Toby Purser.[11] Two years later, after a tour of the Caribbean islands, Edwards left the group to focus on his classical career. In 2016, Grove met Swedish tenor Kalle Leander in Denmark at the Danish National Opera while performing a role in L'Amico Fritz. Later in the year, they teamed up with Swedish tenor Andreas Backlund and began producing concerts in Sweden.[12] In 2018, they began producing their own shows including "From the West End to..." inc at the Grand Theatre in Gothenburg, Växjö Concert Hall, Helsingborgs Concert Hall amongst others with guests including West End artist Mike Sterling, and Swedish artists Anna Werner, Micaela Sjöstedt and Johan Stengård (the original saxophonist for Abba.)[13][14][15] Soon after, they toured with the show "Christmas with Tenori"[16] with Grove, Leander and Björklund.[17] In 2018, Grove worked with Swedish tv and film personalities Marianne Mörck, Rikard Söderberg and Sven Melander at Ystad Theatre in "One Nun Too Many."[18] Soon after they collaborated with Mörck to stage "Tenori with Marrianne Mörck" to celebrate her long career on the stage[19] with Grove, Leander and Sterling[20]. Grove, Leander and Mörck were guests on Sweden's National Lottery for Swedish Television TV4.[21][22] After shows at Lorensberg Theatre in Gothenburg and Helsingborg Concert Hall, the tour was canceled due to the pandemic shortly before the tour was due to arrive in Stockholm.[23][24] During the pandemic, Tenori recorded with Swedish pop singer Mariette Hansson and were noticed by Universal Music subsequently signing a recording contract.

In 2022 Grove and Leander met Swedish songwriter Bobby Ljunggren.[25] Together with producer Dan Sundquist they wrote and recorded the song "La Stella"[26] and entered Sweden's largest televised song competition Melodifestivalen 2022 as a duo.[27][28][29][30][31] The song did not make the final.[32][33]

Shortly afterwards due to personal reasons, Leander left the group and David Lind was the latest member to join.[34] Due to Leander's departure they were forced to cancel their upcoming tour "Tenori meets Loa Falkman".[35] Later in the year, Grove and Davis Lind collaborated with songwriter Fredrik Kempe and producer Sundquist on new songs. In 2023, Grove and Davis Lind collaborated with producer Chris Rehn (Takida) and again with songwriter Bobby Ljunggren on new songs to be released later in the year.
