Tanveer Zamani is an American Surgeon and a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve who has denied being secretly married to the president of Pakistan.

Early life and education

Zamani was born in Deccan, Hyderabad City, India.[1] She completed her medical graduation from Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Pakistan.[2] Zamani completed her General Surgical education & training in Ireland,[3] and after passing her professional certifying exams qualified as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI).[3] Later she moved from Dublin to the US and completed her second residency training in general surgery, at Geisinger Medical Center, PA, and obtained American Board of Surgery certification.[3][4][5][6][2]

Career

Dr. Zamani's career has been associated by a commitment to the field of General Surgery.[7] She completed her residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She did fellowships in Surgical Critical Care at the renowned John Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, IL, and a ‘Mastery in General Surgery’ through the American College of Surgeons Program at Geisinger Medical Center. Prior to that, she completed her postgraduate general surgical training in Ireland. Her dedication and proficiency led to certifications from the American Board of Surgery and the Board of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Furthermore, she was also commissioned as a Major in the US Army Reserve in 2021.[2]

Zamani was trained and worked both in the European & American health care & education systems; after being initially raised, and studying primary medical graduation in Pakistan. Zamani initiated a humanitarian mission in 2015 in South Asia, focusing on poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, and interfaith respect in Pakistan.[8] She also founded a platform for the young generations to come as leader[9], the People's Movement of Pakistan (PMP) in 2016[9], and later the party registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan, and participated in the National General Elections on Jul 25, 2018.[10][11]

Zamani has been the object of media speculation linking her to former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. She and Zardari both denied any marriage or association.[12][13][14][15][16][10][excessive citations]
