TJ Douglas, formerly known as Tica Douglas, is a folk singer-songwriter based in New York. They have been crafting deeply introspective and emotionally resonant music for nearly a decade. Douglas is known for blending modern folk with hints of folk-punk and shoegaze, offering a unique sound that combines raw, personal lyrics with atmospheric instrumentation.

Their 2024 album Dying is particularly noteworthy. As a palliative care chaplain, Douglas brings a profound perspective on life and death into their music, reflecting on the fragility and beauty of the human experience. This album, which explores themes of loss and mortality, has been praised for its warmth and humanity, even while dealing with heavy topics.

In addition to *Dying*, their 2020 album Lo was an expansive, hour-long digital release during the pandemic, showcasing their ability to capture both the personal and universal in their songwriting.

Their earlier works, such as Joey (2015) and Our Lady Star of the Sea, Help and Protect Us, have established TJ Douglas as a distinctive voice in the folk scene, known for poignant storytelling and a gentle, haunting vocal style.
