The Attack

On the evening of June 26, 1992, PKK militants, surrounded the Susa Mosque where worshippers had gathered for the evening prayers. The attackers entered the mosque, forcibly removed the congregants, and executed them outside. The militants bound the hands of the worshippers and taunted them before opening fire. Ten people were killed, including the mosque's imam, Abdul Khaluk Ugaş, and several members of the Kantar and Fidancı families. Five others were injured in the attack.
