  • Comment: The draft reads like it was written specifically to meet notability. Can you give it an edit so that it is more concise? All of these stats in the first section are unnecessary. JSFarman (talk) 16:40, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

Steven Schneider (born January 25, 1974...[1]) is an American producer known for the success of the Paranormal Activity film series, the Insidious franchise (2011–present), the thrillers Split (2016), Glass (2019), and Knock at the Cabin (2023), and other horror films such as Blair Witch (2016) and Pet Sematary (2019).

Over the last decade, Schneider had a professional focus on production deals with entertainment companies. In 2012, Schneider and co-producer Adi Shankar signed a multi-year deal with multinational entertainment company Entertainment One to deliver two micro-budget genre titles annually.[2] Schneider then started independent production company Spooky Pictures with producer Roy Lee, setting up an inaugural production project with Image Nation Abu Dhabi, the horror film psychological thriller Watcher.[3] He later also signed a multi-film production deal with Indian company Balaji Motion Pictures and genre label Dark Hell from producer Armaan Zorace, focusing on Hindi-language thriller and horror projects.[4]

In 2013, Schneider was involved in a lawsuit regarding Paranormal Activity 4. Filmmaker Michael Costanza sued Paramount Pictures, along with Schneider and his producing partner, for theft of intellectual property regarding a 2010 pitch meeting about the horror movie.[5] Following the success of the Paranormal Activity franchise, Schneider struggled with substance abuse.[6]

Schneider is working on new projects such as the period horror film Switchboard[7]
