Star Princess is a upcoming Sphere-class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, and is the third ship to sail for the cruise line under this name. Star Princess was ordered on 23 July 2018 from Fincantieri along her sister , [[Sun PrinceSun Princess (2024) and is being constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, and is scheduled to debut on Aug.4th 2025[1] Some sources has October 2025 has the launch date.
History
Star Princess and her sister , the [[Sun PrinSun Princess (2024)cess]] are of the same class and design. She was ordered along with her sister in March 2019. – The First Star Princess was lanch as [[Sitmar's]][[[[MV Columbus(Sitmar FairMajesty) . She served under numerous owners and names until 2021 when she got sold for scrapping. The Second Star Princess was of the Grand Class. She got transfered to P&O Cruises Australia as the Pacific Encounter. She is scheduled to get moved to Carnival Cruise Line as the [[Carnival EncouPacific Encounternter]] in March 2025.
Design and specifications
She is to carry 4,300-guests and is 178,000-tons[2]. Guests can enjoy the pool by-day and enjoy entertainment such as Cirque Éloize at night in The Dome, a glass-enclosed piazza offering panoramic views of the sky and sea[3].
Destinations
The inaugural cruise for Star Princess is set for Aug. 4, 2025, a nine-day Italy and Greece round-trip from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Corfu, Kotor, Mykonos, Santorini and Naples. Varied nine- and 10-day cruises sailing from Rome, Piraeus and Trieste follow. Star Princess cruises go on sale with the larger Europe 2025 program on June 1 this year.[4]
