History

St. Dorothy Catholic School opened its doors in 1969 to serve the burgeoning population of the Albion Road/Martingrove Road area. Originally established to alleviate overcrowding at St. Benedict and St. Andrew Catholic Schools, it began with an enrollment of 244 students. In 1982, the school underwent an expansion to accommodate up to 900 students. However, with the opening of Holy Child Catholic School in 1993, which temporarily operated out of St. Dorothy's facilities, the enrollment decreased to 465 students.[1]
