Draft:Speedminton Australia

Speedminton® was introduced to Australia in 2008 when Geoff Bannister was awarded sole distributor rights. This innovative racket activity combines the best elements of tennis and badminton, and was designed for outdoor play. The patented shuttle (known as a Speeder®) is heavier than the badminton version, has golf ball style dimpling in the head and cuts through the breeze with a direct, flat flight-path. This led to the no-net format, with the distance between the 2 courts (officially 12.8 meters apart) acting as a net.

The growth of Speedminton® in Australia has primarily been via school Physical Education programs, where whole classes can develop racket skills, enjoy long, high energy rallies and play a variety of games on any open area.

Outside of school, people enjoy Speedminton® in their backyards, their local park, on the beach and even in the dark with Night Speeders® and Speed-lights® Anywhere, anytime has been the brands slogan for a very good reason.
