Draft:Sangram Majumdar

Sangram Majumdar (born Kolkata, India, 1976) is an Indian-American artist and Assistant Professor in the University of Washington School of Art + Art History + Design.[1] He previously taught at MICA in Baltimore.[2]

Recent solo exhibition venues include Galerie Mirchandani+Steinruecke, Mumbai[3]; Geary Contemporary, NY, Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, NY, and Asia Society Texas Center, Houston. Selected group exhibition venues include Shoshana Wayne Gallery, LA, The Landing Gallery, LA and James Cohan Gallery, NY. Selected awards include a Gottlieb Foundation Grant,[4] NYFA Grant, American Academy of Arts and Letters purchase award, NY, a MacDowell Fellowship, a residency at Yaddo, and the 2009-10 Marie Walsh Sharpe Grant. He is a member of National Academy of Design.[5]

His work has been featured in BOMB,[6] Hyperallergic,[7] Artforum,[8] and the Brooklyn Rail.[9]
