Samarendra Mishra (born 1 October 1973) is a businessman and politician from Odisha. He is the son of former Leader of Opposition of the Odisha Congress, Narasingha Mishra.

Samarendra ran for public office as Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Balangir on an Indian National Congress ticket in 2019. He is committed to secular politics and has been organising and regularly participating in raising the issue of large scale migration of labour which plagues Odisha. He is currently a spokesperson for Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee and a member of the central decision making body All India Congress Committee of the Indian National Congress.

He has been part of a widely known poultry startup called OVO Farms.[1][2][3][4][5]

Personal Life edit

Born into a household of lawyers and political activism, his grandfather Yudhisthir Mishra was a member of the Constituent Assembly of India and his father Narasingha Mishra is a stalwart of Odisha politics. Samarendra completed his MBA graduation degree from the University of Bradford in UK.[6]
