Sajeesh Rajendran is an Indian Cinematographer based in Hyderabad, India mainly working in Telugu and Malayalam Film and Advertising Industries. He got his start as a student in the prestigious M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute , Adayar, Chennai and has since gone on to shoot Feature Films, Web Series, Music videos, Corporate Films, Promos and Commercials for Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Airtel, Monsanto, Tata-Hitachi, GMR, Mahindra, Aurbindho Pharma, Bosch and more. Sajeesh has won the “Best Cinematography Award” in the 4th edition of the “Indian Advertising and Corporate Film Festival”, New Delhi in 2014.
Sajeesh has a web series in Telugu for Zee5, an original Web Film for aha (The first original web film in Telugu), a feature length documentary on the legendary film maker K.Viswanath and a few Indi-feature films in various stages of production to his credit. He has also worked under renowned Indian and International Cinematographers in Tamil and Telugu Feature Films and Commercials.
Apart from being active in film making, Sajeesh also finds time to teach and conduct workshops to film students. He has taught Film Making and Cinematography in various film institutes and colleges across India.
Early Life
editSajeesh was born in Gudalur, The Nilgiris and was brought up in various parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu as his father was working with a plantation company. From a very young age, he was attracted to the craft of story telling and wanted to be a film maker. Books and movies were his companions right from the school days. After schooling, he chose to do B.Sc Visual Communication in C.S.I Bishop Appasamy College, Coimbatore.
After completing his graduation, he joined M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute , Adayar, Chennai to have a formal education in Film making specialising in Cinematography.
Career
editSajeesh started his career in advertising industry and was fortunate enough to shoot a lot of corporates and commercials for major brands very early in his career. He moved to Hyderabad from Chennai to focus more on his advertising career. After establishing himself in the advertising circle, he slowly moved towards longer formats of story telling like web series, Documentaries and Feature films.
