BIOGRAPHY
Sahatsa Jauregi is a Basque artist, who was born in Itaparica, Brazil, in 1984. She is the daughter of hippies. When she was 8 months old, she went to live in the Basque Country, and nowadays she lives and works in Bilbao.[1]
She graduated in Arts from UPV-EHU in the year of 2007 and she is a member of the EMAN group. She obtained the Research Sufficiency in 2010. She has been working on a doctorate that examines ideas about the attraction of failure.[2]
In 2024, on the occasion of the centenary of Eduardo Txillida and Nestor Basterretxe at Tabakalera, in Donostia, Sahatsa Jauregi took part in the Leathers and Thatches (Larruak eta Izurrak) exhibition dedicated to contemporary sculpture, together with Basque sculptors June Crespo, Nora Aurrekoetxea, and Kimia Kamvari. [3]At this exhibition, she created Tripak, which proposes a gaze through metal that defines another heavy structure, the fruit of experiences with other bodies.[4]
