SSMB29 is the tentative working title of an upcoming Indian Telugu-language adventure film directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who co-wrote the screenplay with V. Vijayendra Prasad. It is produced by K. L. Narayana under Durga Arts. The film stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
The film was officially announced in June 2021 under the tentative title SSMB29, as it is Mahesh's 29th film as the lead actor. The film will have music composed by M. M. Keeravani and cinematography handled by K. K. Senthil Kumar.

editAfter the success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in 2017, S. S. Rajamouli announced his two upcoming projects during an interview with Variety. The first project would be funded by D. V. V. Danayya's DVV Entertainment, while the second one would be funded by K. L. Narayana's Durga Arts.[3] Rajamouli prioritized firstly the project with Danayya, which became RRR (2022).[4][5] In April 2020, Rajamouli confirmed his project after RRR would be with Mahesh.[6] In June 2021, V. Vijayendra Prasad confirmed that they were developing an action thriller film that was an African forest adventure.[7] The following October, Mahesh confirmed that production would begin after he completes Guntur Kaaram (2024).[8]
Filming
editPrincipal photography is scheduled to commence from 2024.[9]
Release
editThe film will release in Telugu alongside dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada.[10]
