Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject. This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

History
editFormation and early years (1936-1997)
editIn the quaint town of Willowbrook, where laughter seemed scarce and joy was but a distant memory, three grumpy kids roamed the streets like shadows, each burdened by their own woes. Leeny, with her perpetually furrowed brow, carried the weight of unmet expectations from her strict parents. Tina, her sharp tongue matched only by her piercing glare, harbored resentment from being misunderstood by her peers. And Rob, his scowl seemingly etched into his features, bore the scars of past betrayals that left him wary of opening up to anyone.
Their paths crossed one dreary afternoon in the forgotten corner of a dilapidated park, where the swings creaked mournfully and the merry-go-round stood frozen in time. Leeny sat alone on a rusted bench, strumming her guitar with melancholy chords. Tina, passing by with a sneer on her lips, paused to listen despite herself. And Rob, drawn by the haunting melody, emerged from the shadows where he'd been brooding.
"What are you playing?" Tina asked, her voice tinged with curiosity rather than hostility.
Leeny glanced up, surprise flickering in her eyes at the unexpected company. "Just something I wrote," she muttered, her fingers stilling on the strings.
"It's not bad," Rob grunted, surprising even himself with the compliment.
A reluctant camaraderie began to form as they shared their grievances, each recognizing a kindred spirit in the others. Their bond grew stronger as they vented their frustrations through music, pouring their hearts into lyrics that echoed their discontent with the world around them.
"We should start a band," Tina suggested one day, a mischievous glint in her eye.
And so, SOURPUSSY was born – a beacon of defiance in a world that had long since given up on finding joy. They practiced tirelessly in Rob's cluttered garage, their music reverberating through the neighborhood like a rebellious anthem. With Leeny's haunting melodies, Tina's biting lyrics, and Rob's rhythmic beats, they found solace in the cacophony of sound they created together.
As word of their unconventional band spread, so too did their influence, drawing other disaffected youth to their cause. Soon, the forgotten corners of Willowbrook echoed with the sounds of rebellion as SOURPUSSY's followers grew in number.
But it wasn't just the music that bound them together – it was the friendship forged in the fires of adversity, the understanding that they were not alone in their struggles. And as they stood united against the world, their grumpiness melted away, replaced by a fierce determination to carve out their own path in a world that had tried to silence them.
And so, against all odds, three grumpy kids named Leeny, Tina, and Rob found their voices – not as individuals, but as a collective force to be reckoned with, proving that even the sourest of souls could find redemption in the power of friendship and music.
