Ronald L. Dart (January 7, 1934 – January 23, 2016) was an American evangelical minister, radio broadcaster, and author. He served as a pastor in the Worldwide Church of God and later founded Christian Educational Ministries (CEM) and the radio program Born to Win. Dart was known for his ability to explain complex biblical subjects in a clear and understandable manner.
Early life and education
editRonald L. Dart was born on January 7, 1934, in Harrison, Arkansas. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, achieving the rank of First Class Petty Officer. Dart attended Hardin Simmons University and graduated from Ambassador College. He later pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin but did not complete his degree.[1]
Career
editDart began his career as an evangelical minister with the Worldwide Church of God. He later left the organization and founded Christian Educational Ministries (CEM) in 1995. He also created the international Born to Win radio program, which was known for Dart's ability to explain complex biblical subjects clearly. Dart authored 11 books on various Bible subjects. He has been referred to as part of the "rogues' gallery" of influential leaders within the Church of God movement.[2]
Personal life
editDart was married to his wife, Allie, for 62 years. He passed away on January 23, 2016, at his home in Tyler, Texas.[3]
Legacy
editDart's work with Christian Educational Ministries and the Born to Win radio program continues after his death, with the program still airing and continuing the work he began.[3][4]
