Rob Diamond (born December 18, 1965) is an independent American filmmaker, writer, producer and director. His films include Lucy Shimmers and the Prince of Peace and Love Everlasting.
Early life
editBorn in Phoenix, Diamond was then raised in Southern California. He lived in Riverside, California until the 8th grade and then moved to the beach in Dana Point, California where he fell in love with surfing and the ocean.[citation needed]
Career
editDiamond started acting and modeling in Los Angeles after he was discovered on the beach when he was 17 and hand picked to do a commercial for Coca-Cola.[citation needed] He went on to get cast in numerous national commercials, including for Levi's 501 Blues and Minute Maid,[citation needed] before landing his first part in a film, with Mickey Rooney.[citation needed]
He has taught film acting since 1998 and owns and now operates his own talent agency "Rob Diamond Agency."[1] His students have landed speaking parts in television shows and feature films including his own.[2] He has also made several films related to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[3]
Diamond has written over 50 screenplays to date. He won the best director award for his feature film Saint Street at the 2013 Filmed in Utah Awards.[citation needed] He then went on to direct Love Everlasting, starring Lucky Blue Smith. After that, he then made his most successful film[citation needed] Lucy Shimmers and the Prince of Peace, which gained traction for its touching story.[4] The film stars his granddaughter, Scarlet Diamond.[5] The movie won an award at the annual Utah Film Festival.[citation needed] Diamond has also directed several faith based films such as Wayward: The Prodigal Son.[6]
He has been a guest speaker at several colleges, and in podcasts.[7] Diamond has numerous other films in the works that he will be writing, directing and producing.[8]
