Richard Striner (born November 22, 1950) is an American historian, and author.[1]

Biography

Striner was born on November 22, 1950, in Syracuse, New York. He attended American University during the Vietnam War, majoring in American Studies after initially pursuing art. He completed his PhD in history from the University of Maryland.[2]

In 1984, Striner stated his career by co-authoring Washington Deco: Art Deco Design in the Nation’s Capital, with architect Hans Wirz.[3]

In 1993, Striner's efforts earned him the Renchard Prize for Historic Preservation from the Historical Society of Washington, D.C.[4]

In 1991, he joined the history faculty at Washington College.[1][3]
