Regine Guevara is a philanthropist[1] and practitioner for cultural diplomacy, sustainable peace and development across global south regions. She is the Secretariat of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute in the Philippines.[2][3]
Regine Guevara was raised in the Philippines. She attained a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies with minor in Feminist Theory at the Jesuit Ateneo de Manila University and a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution from the Jewish secular-run Brandeis University. She also completed the Islamic Gift Economy at the Center for Applied Sciences and Islamic Civilization and the Programs on Negotiation and Mediation at the Harvard Law School.[4]
Regine has worked as a Communications Consultant for the USAID-ASEAN Youth Volunteer Programme, United Nations Women, United Nations Habitat as well as UNESCO.[5] She also served leadership roles in the Committee for ASEAN Youth Cooperation, Asian Youth Council, UN Major Group for Children[6] and Youth, Global Coalition in Youth, Peace, Security, UN Interagency Network on Youth Development and Asia Pacific Interagency Network on Youth. During this time, she co-founded several movements such as ASEAN Youth DRR Network, Asian Youth Peace Network, and International Youth Centre for Peace.[7][8]
Regine is a Trustee of the Guevara Foundation, through which she manages local, gender and age-sensitive, urban mobility and food security projects called SDG Villages. She is also a member of various international business and charity organizations such as the Philippine-Russia Business Assembly, Israel Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Ikebana Foundation, Rotary International, Soroptimist International, and Friends for Leadership, a network of next generation leaders and entrepreneurs launched at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in Russia..[9][10]
She is the Producer of AsiaTV through which she launched AfricaTV in Morocco and LatinTV in Brazil.
