Rebecca Denness is the Deputy Mayor (2023-2024).[1], and Mayor-elect (2024-2025), of the City of Ely Council, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. She has been a City of Ely councillor since May 2019[2], and has been selected by the Labour Party as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the West Suffolk Constituency in the 2024 United Kingdom General Election[3].

Biography

Rebecca Denness was born in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, moving to Sussex in 1973. From 1989 she worked at The National Archives, before leaving to work for Cambridge City Council, and then the Government Offices for the English Regions[4]
