Raphael Nagel

Raphael Manuel Nagel (born November 11, 1970)[4] is a Jewish-German[10][11] investor, entrepreneur,[24] lobbyist, economist,[3] philanthropist, and author.[2] He is the Founder of The Abrahamic Business Circle[1] and Foundation Nagel.

Early life and education Nagel was born to Manfred Nagel and Carmen Alonso Liebermann in Heilbronn, Germany.[4][23] His father was a professional football player who played in Heilbronn before becoming a real estate developer.

He studied law at Universidad Camilo José Cela and completed a diploma of Specialization in Refinancing and Business Restructuring from Universidad Isabel I. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Paris University Of International Education. In April 2021, he received a Doctor Honoris Causa from the California Metropolitan University for contributing to Economic Diplomacy in the Middle East.[28]

Career Dr. Nagel is the Chairman of The Abrahamic Business Circle,[9][25] a UAE-based non-profit and non-government organization that he established in 2020 after the Abraham Accords was officially signed. It involves high-profile individuals with the same vision of fostering economic diplomacy through business and trade. The Abrahamic Business Circle aims to build business relations across religion and culture in the Middle East between Jewish people, Israelis, and Arabs.[11] Since the accords' announcement, Dr. Nagel approached several Israelis interested in new business in Dubai across various sectors, including venture capital, tourism, real estate, health care, and trading. The deals have been finalized with businesses working on tourism in the UAE.[6][15]

The Abramahic Business Circle launched a workshop for members associated with industries, including real estate, venture capital, and finance, to share their knowledge and expertise in the panel sessions.[7] In the workshop, the prominent UAE personnel signed a joint working agreement to attract U.S. $100 million foreign direct investment to promote economic diplomacy through business.[8]

Dr. Nagel is the Founder and President of Fundación Nagel, a non-profit organization established in 2016. It focuses on helping, supporting, and promoting basic financial and economic education to people and groups at risk of social exclusion derived from their over-indebtedness while paying special attention to single-parent families.[14][17] Dr. Nagel co-founded a Spanish investment bank specializing in cross-border transactions and debt restructuring.

Dr. Nagel is the Executive Chairman of the Dubai-based private equity firm Tactical Management DWC, LLC,[18]. Over the years, Dr. Nagel has been a member of various working groups, spent 17 years in banking and investment funds, and served as Senior Advisor to major companies within and beyond Europe. He is a former Senior Manager at Deutsche Bank.[4][16][23]

In 2016, Dr. Nagel wrote the book Turbocapitalismo, Los Maestros De La Quiebra, a guide to some of the corruption cases that have taken over the news in recent years and a way to put a face on the anonymous victims of abuses in the banking sector. The profits from its publication are invested in the Nagel Foundation to support the groups most affected by the economic crisis and build the necessary foundations to move towards a more humane economy.[4]

Dr. Nagel attended the UAE-Israel Business Summit 2021[12][13] and appeared on El Matí De Catalunya Ràdio[5]. He is the Governor of Civitas Dei[26] and an International Faculty at California Metropolitan University.[27]
