Rabb Di Awaaz is an Indian Hindi-language Drama[1] feature film which is written and directed by National Film Awards winner Ojaswwee Sharma[2] on the topic of Disability and Mental Health. It stars a cast of Abhinav Sharma, Shiv K Sharma, Mohit Verma, Abhilasha Sidana, Jagdeep Lamba, Varun Narang, Snehill Sharma.[3] This movie is also available in sign language and full Audio description.[2]

Plot edit

The movie starts with RJ Karan who works at "Junoon FM 88.8" in Chandigarh tricity, who is trying to get contestants to participate in "Rabb di Awaaz" contest. The contestant winning "Rabb di Awaaz" will get to be RJ of "Junoon FM" for 1 day. When he gets home, he sees homeless people sleeping on the roadside and feels depressed and posts about it on his social media but fails to get any engagement the post. Karan fails to get any contestants and impressions on his social media and is taunted about it in meeting by his boss. Feeling depressed by this, he is standing on the roof in rain when his friend and colleague Arjun tells him about a contestant named Shiv who has called for the contest. When the contestant comes to radio station for his audition, to Karan's surprise Shiv turns out to be blind. Karan live streams Shiv's audition in which Shiv's starts by introducing himself telling that he works as an Legal Consultant and counsellor for the youth and a Disability activist which leaves Karan flabbergasted. Shiv continues speaking about issues regarding Mental Health, the positives of being visually impaired and talks about other issues in our society. Karan's livestream slowly gains viewers, as people share it listening to Shiv. The movie ends with compliments to Karan by his colleagues and calls his mother whom he had not talked to a long time.[4]

Attention India says, "It is one of the best social films with so many social and practical messages." and gave 4/5 stars.[5] UP18News writes "The film not only entertains but also serves as a powerful vehicle for social messaging, championing the cause of empowerment and inclusivity. With its well-rounded characters, impactful dialogue, and overarching message of hope" and gave it a rating of 4/5.[4]
