Pre-Board International Scholarship Exam (PBISE)[1] is an annual scholarship examination conducted for Grade 12 students[2], primarily focusing on students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. History
editPBISE was established in 2017 with the objective of identifying and nurturing talented students in STEM fields and offering them early provisional admission at first degree courses in BITS-Pilani Dubai Campus along with scholarships.[3] Over the years, it has evolved to include partnerships with various schools hosting PBISE for their Grade 12 students and offering substantial scholarship opportunities to high-achieving students.[4]
The PBISE is a three-hour online examination based on the Grade 12 syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics[5]. It evaluates students' understanding and application of key concepts. The Level of questions is aligned to Grade 12 CBSE Board Exams.[6]
The exam is open to all Grade 12 students who are currently enrolled in a recognized educational board. Students can register for the exam through the official PBISE website or through participating schools.[7][8][9][10]
PBISE offers scholarships up to 50% of first-year tuition fee and 25% of four-year Hostel Concession for engineering programs, particularly at the BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. The scholarships are awarded based on students' performance in the examination.
A notable feature of PBISE is its collaboration with BITS Pilani Dubai Campus[3], providing students with opportunities for early provisional admission and scholarships to study at one of the leading engineering institutes.
