Marta Sroka (*1988 in Chełm, Poland) is a Polish film and theatre actress.

Early life edit

Marta Sroka studied at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw from 2007 to 2011. For her roles in the graduation performances (Jaquenetta in Love's Labour's Lost and Jola in The Maids of Wilko) she received the TVP Łódź Award at the XXIX Festival of Drama Schools in Łódź.

Career edit

From 2011 to 2016 she was a member of the ensemble at the J.Osterwa Theatre in Lublin. During this time she took on various Shakespearean roles, including Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Jessica in The Merchant of Venice. In addition to classical roles, she has also played contemporary characters.

Between 2016 and 2018 she lived in Warsaw, where she performed in theatres such as the Soho Theatre and the Kamienica Theatre. She also appeared in Polish TV series like Wojenne dziewczyny, Diagnoza and Barwy szczęścia.

In 2019, she moved to Berlin, where she featured in various TV series and films such as Junk Space Berlin, Mapa, Vernau - Versunkene Gräber and Mord mit Aussicht. From August 2022, Sroka can be seen in one of the lead roles in the Netflix thriller series Kleo, which was nominated for the 2023 Critics Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Series.

She runs a humorous Instagram account in which she does a parody of Jesus - @_marta_sroka
