Lundy Bancroft is an American author, specialist in domestic violence and child abuse. He is also a therapist and speaker. He works with professionals so that they can help victims better, as well as with the latter to support their healing. He currently officiates from Massachusetts.[1]

He is the author of seven books, including the first (non-collaborative), Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men, published in 2003 by Berkley Books, sold 400,000 copies. This book aims to enable women to identify whether or not their partner is exhibiting abusive behavior, as well as to teach them how to separate from them safely[2]. Lundy Bancroft analyzes the techniques for manipulating violent men in order to nullify them.[3][4]
