Draft:Lunatic Wrestling Federation

The Lunatic Wrestling Federation (LWF) was an Independent Pro Wrestling company that performed shows from 1993 to 2004. The group started as a backyard outfit in a suburb of Chicago known as Mokena Illinois. Over the course of a few years, the LWF grew to become an influential and highly attended Independent Pro Wrestling company. It is often credited as the starting place for WWE Superstar CM Punk, among many others in the local Chicago wrestling scene.

The Lunatic Wrestling Federation was best known for it's wild style, interesting storylines and ridiculous characters, which set it ahead of it's competitors at the time.

However, the LWF ceased operation in 2004.

In 2014, a book was published about the LWF, "The Mighty LWF".

There isn't a vast amount of public Lunatic Wrestling Federation footage, but occasionally clips will appear on the YouTube channel for Billy Whack. youtube/@billywhack

Some of the original wrestlers and creators of the LWF have since worked with other local promotions, and as of 2023 have started a new project called "The Superwrestlers" that runs shows in Chicago every 3 months at the Concord Music Hall. youtube.com/@superwrestlers
