Lim Leack (1804 - 22 August 1875), alternatively spelled Lim Liak, was a prominent merchant in Singapore.[1]
Career edit
Lim came to British Malaya from China in 1825. He was a promoter of tin mining in the Malayan Peninsula as well as the cultivation of Tapioca in Malacca. After moving he co-founded the firm "Leack, Chin Seng & Co. chop Hiap Chin with Tan Chin Seng, a shipping business.[2][3]
Personal life and death edit
Lim married Yeo Im Neo and had several children.[4]
He died in China on 22 August 1875.[2]
