Latin chi (majuscule Ꭓ, minuscule ꭓ) is a letter of the extended latin alphabet used in the writing of Comox and Halkomelem, or languages of Italy like central-southern Calabrian and Salentino; and which was used in the Lepsius Standard Alphabet. Its shape is derived from the Greek small letter Chi (χ).
Usage
editAbenaki
editSébastien Rale used Latin chi (as well as Latin theta) in his Abenaki Latin alphabet in the 17th or 18th century.
Lepsius
editLatin chi was also used in the Lepsius Standard Alphabet[1], published in 1855 and revised in 1863.
Susu
editLatin chi was used in the Susu spelling used in the tradition of the Gospel of Matthew published in 1869[2].
Kashubian
editIn Kashubian, Stefan Ramułt used Latin chi in Słownik języka pomorskiego czyli kaszubskiego (Dictionary of the Pomeranian or Kashubian language) published in 1893[3].
