La Nordica-Extraflame is an Italian Group that has been operating since 1968 in the biomass heating sector. The Group is made up of two companies, La Nordica SpA and Extraflame SpA, both based in Montecchio Precalcino, near Vicenza, and founded by the Dal Zotto family.
History edit
Foundation and beginnings edit
La Nordica-Extraflame Group traces its origins back to 1968 when the brothers Silvano Dal Zotto, Giannino Dal Zotto and Giorgio Dal Zotto, founded La Nordica, a company specialized in metal processing that also began producing wood stoves and cookers. In the 70s biomass products became the company's core business, in particular some iconic models of economic cookers, stoves and fireplaces were born, including the “Romantica” and “Rossella” lines, items still in production today.
Simultaneously to the growth of La Nordica, in the 1980s the Dal Zotto brothers founded Italvas, a company focused on production of steam items for household cleaning and small appliances. Since 1996 Italvas was among the few companies in Italy to strongly believe in the pellet stoves production. The success of these new products led the company to focus exclusively on this sector, reorganizing itself internally and changing its name to Extraflame.
La Nordica-Extraflame edit
During the 2000s La Nordica and Extraflame have progressively grown and at the same time have acquired a significant share of the market, in Italy and abroad.[1][2] The same ownership, management and sales network that the two companies have in common, led to the decision to start operating under the La Nordica-Extraflame brand.
From 2010 La Nordica-Extraflame has constantly increased its range of products and services: the Customer Service department has been expanded and the “Academy”, a training centre for dealers and professional installers, has been established.[3]
In 2022, La Nordica-Extraflame STF France was founded, a new company linked to the Group based in Saint-Étienne and representing a training centre for French partners, as well as a reference point for logistics and assistance service in this specific market.
Information and data edit
La Nordica-Extraflame Group now has 5 production plants for a total area of 70,000 square meters, 250 employees, 8 production lines for over 90,000 pieces a year, over 200 articles 100% Made in Italy in the range[4], a sales network that includes more than 50 countries in the world, more than 450 Technical Assistance Centers in Europe and a Training Center with 7 thematic classrooms and 150 courses with over 1000 participants per year.[5]
