Kwei-Sun Wei (1915–1995) was a Chinese scholar who spent over 50 years studying and teaching in India. He received his BA from Beijing Normal University, MA from Tsinghua University, and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University. His doctoral dissertation titled "A History of the Mongol Dynasty" was completed in 1946. He then joined Cheena Bhavan at Visva-Bharati, where he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Culture from 1976 to 1980. He passed away in 1991.[1]

In 1957, a book based on Wei's dissertation titled "Secret History of the Mongol Dynasty" (or Yüan-chao pi-shih 元朝秘史) by Muslim University, Aligarh, India.[2] Professor John R. Krueger wrote a review of the book, which was published in the Journal of the American Oriental Society in 1961.[3] Krueger recognises the book having "the distinction of being the first edition and translation into English of the important early Mongolian historical chronicle, but he mistakenly refers to Wei as Sun.[4] A digital copy of the book is now in the collection of the Archaeological Survey of India at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.[5]
