History

edit

Knotty Pawz was founded by Weiwei Huang, whose family has been in the recycled cotton business for generations. Her parents have been in the pet rope toy industry for decades. In early 2023, during a visit to her family in China, Weiwei was saddened to see many local factories had closed due to the pandemic and price pressures from trade companies. She felt a calling to help her family and the people in China who are like family to her. This motivation was further strengthened when her dog, American bully, Xena, injured her mouth on a hard chew toy, highlighting the importance of creating toys that are not only durable but also safe for dogs' mouths.

In 2024, Knotty Pawz, as a local business, attended the Earth Festival at Popular Park-Unity Park in Greenville. The event saw a significant number of attendees stopping by and showing interest in Knotty Pawz toys, further solidifying the company's commitment to sustainability and community engagement.[1]
