Karl-Heinz Blomann is a German musician, composer, alto saxophonist and music producer.

Blomann studied education at the Universität Dortmund, later in Duisburg at the Gesamthochschule Musik and at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum Theater-, Film- und Fernsehwissenschaft (TFF).
In 1976 he founded the band Pöhl Musik and in 1983 the music label AufRuhr Records, which has since produced about 20 albums by various artists. Pöhl Musik made numerous tours, for example through South America, Europe and played at the Next Wave Festival in New York in 1989.
Blomann has produced numerous radio plays and written theater and film music. For the project "Klangskulpturen" he received with Olaf Bruske, Rainer Grund, Birger Kluge and Jörg Peters, 1989 the DGB Kulturpreis of the year 1989.
Since 1997 until 2005 he has been the artistic director of the festival open systems.
He is also artistic director of the Blaues Rauschen Festival.
He works in different contexts with constantly new concepts on topics such as art and technology, human and machine and urban sound spaces.
