Kahlil John-Wentworth (born December 25, 2001) is a Canadian soccer player.
Early life
editHe played youth soccer with Erin Mills SC, winning the 2019 U18 Ontario Indoor Cup, scoring in the championship final victory.[1] In 2021, he played in the League1 Ontario U21 reserve division with Vaughan Azzurri.[2]
College career
editIn 2019, John-Wentworth played collegiate soccer with Durham College.[3] With Durham, he won the program’s first Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association national championship banner.[4]
He then transferred to Murray State College for the 2020-21 school year, playing in the 2021 Spring season. He was a All-Region First Team All-Star that season, after scoring six goals and adding five assists.[4]
Club career
editIn 2021, John-Wentworth played with Vaughan Azzurri in League1 Ontario, making one appearance.
In 2022, he played for Simcoe County Rovers FC. John-Wentworth scored one goal for Rovers against the Woodbridge Strikers on August 7 and was named to the League1 Ontario Team of the Week in Week 14.[4][5]
In January 2023, he signed a professional contract with Vancouver FC of the Canadian Premier League.[5] After signing with Vancouver, he was sent on a two-week trial with English Championship club Huddersfield Town, prior to the CPL season.[6] In August 2023, he agreed to mutually terminate his contract with the club, after not having made any appearances for the club.[7]
