Josue Kayigire (born 2001 in Nyagatare, Rwanda), commonly known for his stage name Afrique, is a Rwandan musician.[1][2]
Afrique is specialized in afrofusion music, a sub-genre music which brings together the sonic traditions of styles like soukos and ndombolo with R&B, pop, jazz, and hip-hop.[3] Afrique has released more than 10 singles and collaborations such as: Akanyenga, My Boo, Agatunda, Rompe, No Body, Amarangamutima ft Rebo Chapo, For Life ft Bop Pro, and Nyash ft Kataleya and Kandle.[4][5] [6][7]He has one studio album (by October 2023).[8][9][10]
Since the start of his career in 2019, Afrique has shared the stages with other Africa famous artistes including Jose Chameleone, Bruce Melodie, Bebe Cool, Davido and Diamond Platnumz.[11] [3][12]He has performed in foreign countries such as Uganda, Burundi, UAE and Kenya.[13][14][15]
