Jeye T, the singer-songwriter hailing from Motherwell, has had a dynamic and inspiring musical journey that began in 2009 when he first picked up a guitar and started writing his own songs. Under his real name, John Tierney, he shared his music online and soon garnered attention from notable figures in the industry. One such individual was Alan McGee, the esteemed boss of Creation Records, who invited Jeye T to showcase his talent at the Deathdisco club night in London. This pivotal moment opened doors for Jeye T, allowing him to perform multiple times in the capital and ultimately led to a serendipitous meeting with former Oasis guitarist Bonehead. Their collaboration blossomed, culminating in Bonehead's contribution to Jeye T's debut EP, "Logical Fallacy," which was released in 2010 and saw a raucous sell-out performance in Glasgow.

Building upon this early success, Jeye T signed a record deal with 25 Hour Convenience Store in 2011, a label managed by Gary Powell, the drummer of The Libertines. This relationship bore fruit as they recorded Jeye T's second album with Jon Moon, who at the time was ascending in the music world due to his work with Amy Winehouse. The release of the EP "Telescope Eye" followed, showcasing Powell’s drumming prowess and prompting a tour of London's vibrant music scene. However, the following year brought a shift in Jeye T's musical trajectory as he parted ways with the label due to differences in creative vision. Undeterred, he launched his own label, SM Records, and released the single "Saturday," featuring Alan McGee in the music video. The single's success was a catalyst for a subsequent UK tour, further solidifying Jeye T's place in the music landscape.

In the years that followed, Jeye T continued to evolve as an artist, consistently pushing the boundaries of his sound. In 2013, he returned to the studio to record two new singles, “Laughing at Midnight” and “I Wanna Tell You,” which received positive airplay from major stations like Radio 1 and XFM. This momentum reached its pinnacle in 2014 when Jeye T realized a childhood dream by performing at T in the Park, thrilling the festival crowd with his energetic set. However, in a surprising turn of events, he announced his early retirement in 2015, citing a desire to explore other avenues after achieving what many would consider a significant milestone in his career. Yet, music has an undeniable pull, and in 2020, he resurfaced with new singles "Intoxication" and "Oh No Oh Yeh," indicating a possible return to the music scene and a willingness to explore new creative directions that diverged from his earlier work. As Jeye T continues to navigate his artistic journey, fans eagerly await what this talented musician will share next.
