Puviraj (Raj) Srikanthan was born in Sri Lanka on 13 August 1984 but he was forced to seek asylum in Germany with his family when he was still an infant due to his father being a CID in the Sri Lankan police force. Raj attended kindergarten in Germany, near Frankfurt and learnt fluid German. He moved to Canada, Toronto in 1992 and moved between a few elementary schools and continued this pattern in High School. He completed his post secondary education at York University and attended Bond University on the Gold Coast, Australia for his Juris Doctor.
When he completed his Juris Doctor he worked in the Legal Aid sector based on his interest to serve and give back to the community. He took a break from his legal career to embark on various business ventures with varying degrees of success and now is the managing director of a law firm in Australia. He is an avid supporter of social causes and volunteers his time to support people who come from humble beginnings and has been recognised in various forums as being a staunch social justice advocate.
