The Information Technology Company (Belarusian: Кампанія інфармацыйных тэхналогій, abbreviated as КіТ) is a specialized unit within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, dedicated to the development of software for military applications, as well as ensuring information and network security. Commonly referred to as the IT Company, it plays a vital role in enhancing the technological capabilities and cyber defenses of the Belarusian military.

The establishment of the Information Technology Company was announced by the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Andrei Ravkov, on February 25, 2018. Plans for its formation were unveiled by the Ministry of Defense in July of the same year, with operations commencing in November. The company's personnel primarily consists of individuals with prior military service and higher technical education in IT specialties, recruited through a competitive selection process. The inaugural cohort comprised 40 individuals, with additional personnel joining in subsequent intakes.

On December 26, a separate computer classroom was inaugurated for the soldiers of the IT Company, underscoring the significance of technological proficiency within the armed forces. Throughout its initial year of operation, the company undertook numerous projects aimed at bolstering the technological infrastructure and capabilities of the Belarusian military. These projects ranged from developing security programs to enhancing combat simulations and 3D modeling for training purposes.

Recruitment into the Information Technology Company is highly selective, with candidates required to possess a higher technical education in an IT specialty. Prospective recruits undergo rigorous testing and evaluation to assess both their technical proficiency and moral-psychological attributes. Successful candidates are provided with comprehensive training and assigned to projects based on their skills and expertise. The company maintains a dedicated barracks facility equipped with state-of-the-art workstations and amenities to support its personnel.

Soldiers within the IT Company typically work in teams, collaborating on various projects while also engaging in continuous learning and professional development. Their responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including software development for military navigation, combat simulations, automated control systems, and cybersecurity measures. Additionally, personnel undergo regular military training to ensure readiness and proficiency in both technical and tactical domains.

Structure

The Information Technology Company is organized into three platoons, each consisting of 20 personnel. Operational activities are coordinated by officers within the activity support group, who serve as liaisons between clients and project teams. Team leaders, typically senior conscription soldiers, oversee project management and task allocation, leveraging their experience and expertise to ensure successful outcomes.
